Cusuco National Park, San Pedro Sula

There is only one way to describe Cusuco National Park in San Pedro Sula and that is FUN, FUN, FUN. Well, fun if you like to tread through the mountains and get all dirty. (I personally LIVE for the chance to get all dirty and sweaty climbing a mountain.)

From the moment you decide to go to Cusuco National Park the adventure begins. How so?  The only way to get up there is in a 4×4 vehicle, so you better hold on tight because you`ll be at least and hour and a half on the road to get there.  Be prepared to pass through the heart of  El Merendon mountain while you feast your eyes on all the exotic trees and wildlife. As you arrive to the Cusuco camping ground, you will being to notice the drastic change in the temperature, from 98 degrees farenheit in the city to aprox. 60 degrees farenheit in the mountains.

The camping ground is just that, a piece of land to set up your tents and camp out. No electricity, no restaurant, just you and the elements. There is running water and bathroom at the facility, so you don`t have to worry about being clean. A tourist center is opened on the weekdays so you can get  information about the reserve.

But don`t let me tell you about all of the fun, for pictures and tours about Cusuco National Park, go into http://www.junglexpedition.org/archives/1918.  And as I always say, come to Honduras, stay with us and have a great time!
