Enough is Enough! Let`s talk about the good stuff.

Are you tired of the bad news? Every single day the media bombards us with negative images, bad news and bleak outlooks on life .Quite frankly, I`m just tired of it! Let me share with you the “headlines” of today`s newspaper….corrupt cops, green alert due to storms, money laundering, etc, etc.  Really? Very work inspiring. With these kinds of headlines, all I want to do is go back home and never get out of bed. Enough is enough.

Let me change these headlines into things I am proud of. Things, most people from Honduras may not know. Things that make my heart swell with pride and give me hope to be part of something better, something bigger, and something that makes me believe that Honduras is a great place to live.

Did you know that:

Currently, in the American continent, Honduras is number one in exporting and producing tilapia. We produce near 18 million pounds of fresh tilapia filet. This tasty fish provides a low-calorie, low-fat protein and Omega 3 fatty acids which can help maintain your blood pressure, prevent hearbeat irregularities and arthritis. Is that great or what?

Another thing to be proud of is our very delicious coffee, and we even have awards to prove it!

The Institute of International Taste and Quality, (ITQI) awarded the Superior Taste Award 2009 to El Indio coffee

“The recognition was given during the institution’s annual ceremony, after it was tasted by expert chefs and sommeliers from ITQI who sampled 796 other products sent by 290 companies from 75 countries. ”

Honduran coffee has started making it`s mark around the world and once you have your first cup, you`ll know why.

Not too shabby for a third world country huh?

And how about tourism? You want diversity? You got it! Let`s talk about the different types of tourism you may do in our country.

Arqueological Tourism: Copan is considered by many one of the most spectacular cities of the ancient Mayan civilization.

Ecological Tourism: Honduras has the world`s second largest coral reef system.

Adventure Tourism: With places like Pulhapanzac, El Cusuco and La Ceiba, you can go from mountain climbing to river rafting!

Beach Tourism: Few countries can boast of not one but TWO oceans! So lots of beach action going around here.

Rural Tourism: Where you can watch how the locals handcraft beautiful honduran artworks.

Honduras is a beautiful country rich in natural resources. Our people are happy, nice, willing to help, and most importantly unique. My country has nothing to envy any other and I invite all of you who are reading these lines to take in ALL the positive.
